Thanked: 0The paper acts as a defuser. You can also use a white mylar or an old pull down shade. Another method is to use a bounce flash off of a piece of white poster or mounting board.

Thanked: 0Josh's post is so useful and valuable to SRP members that it should be made a sticky. What say you Mr. Moderator?

I'd like to do it, under 2 conditions:
1) That I don't hear any objections from users and mods alike to moving it to the BST or Auction talk forum (most likely BST)
2) That I don't hear any objections about making it a sticky
Giving it 24 hours... If you have any issues or concerns, PM me. If not, I'll take your silence as approval.

Tips for Photographing
I also use Digital media enhance! from http://www.mediachance.com/
free picture processing program, very easy to use and quite useful.
It can make better small mistakes in your photography/lighting.

Nice. It looks like this program tweaks the contrast of the photo. The original looks washed out, probably because it's slightly over-exposed or because of glare in the lens. It's nice to know there are some less expensive alternatives to Photoshop, which rocks but also costs about $800.
