Default Straight razor sorrow? What's yours?

So here's the question. What straight razor is it that you didn't get or missed out on that's been in the back of your mind and can't forget? Or is there one that you've always wanted and just can't seem to obtain due to whatever reason. I'm new so mine is probably a Wade and Butcher on eBay recently . Just completely forgot about it.

I had one attributed to a local hardware that went out of business in 1923 IIRC,
    great looking blade,
I had a lunch appointment with vendors and could not keep an eye on it.
I lost it during the last seconds of the auction and for pennies
I now have a sniper program just in case.....
    It is just Whisker Whacking
    Relax and Enjoy!

    I have two:

    1) a BIG, wedge-y Joseph Wostenholm that went for *way* less than I would have been willing to pay, but like FrogHair, I just forgot to keep an eye on the auction

    2) a George Brittain anchor. I hate to admit it, but I did the same thing with that one.

On the bright side, I've saved myself a fair amount of $$ by not paying attention.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Ain't that the truth. I found an even better way ...... I rarely look. Anyway, the one that got away for me was maybe three or four years ago. A 7 day set of Helje ivory MK 32s. Vintage and in great condition. Went for between $500 and $600. I just couldn't swing it at the time. The spirit was willing but the wallet was weak.

There was a new 50mm Iwasaki on eBay, last week. Listed at 99p, I was really hoping it would stay low but at the point bidding crept past £200, I figured that I could just get one from a retailer when I genuinely want to spend all that money...
    It's still a shame, though.

If You're second, it always looks like You lost it for a few pennies. However, You don't know if the other side's maximum bid was not a 100 $ higher and You even would have lost it setting Your bid 50$ higher.

I sold a William Rodgers and Co. that I restored and put beautiful blond horn scales on. I only shaved with it once and I wish I did not sell that damn thing. Now im hunting for another to do.

I got it, but I almost didn't. A large, very clean, mid-1800s iconic wedge blade (no scales) came up on craigslist. I've not been able to find another example of this one. Just gorgeous and something I normally wouldn't be able to afford. I set up a meeting with the guy. During the day, he tried to call me, but I didn't answer cause I had a gut feeling he was trying to call me off. Drove over after work and got him to give it up. Sold the rest of the lot and got it for $60 in the end.

One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.
