Straight razor sorrow? What's yours?
So here's the question. What straight razor is it that you didn't get or missed out on that's been in the back of your mind and can't forget? Or is there one that you've always wanted and just can't seem to obtain due to whatever reason. I'm new so mine is probably a Wade and Butcher on eBay recently . Just completely forgot about it.

I had one attributed to a local hardware that went out of business in 1923 IIRC,
great looking blade,
I had a lunch appointment with vendors and could not keep an eye on it.
I lost it during the last seconds of the auction and for pennies
I now have a sniper program just in case.....It is just Whisker Whacking
Relax and Enjoy!

I have two:
1) a BIG, wedge-y Joseph Wostenholm that went for *way* less than I would have been willing to pay, but like FrogHair, I just forgot to keep an eye on the auction
2) a George Brittain anchor. I hate to admit it, but I did the same thing with that one.
On the bright side, I've saved myself a fair amount of $$ by not paying attention.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Ain't that the truth. I found an even better way ...... I rarely look. Anyway, the one that got away for me was maybe three or four years ago. A 7 day set of Helje ivory MK 32s. Vintage and in great condition. Went for between $500 and $600. I just couldn't swing it at the time. The spirit was willing but the wallet was weak.

The one that I'm still looking for is the twin of my Moreton & Langley's.
I've never seen another one.Last edited by Otto; 05-30-2013 at 02:44 PM. Reason: sp.
