I can understand keeping your dad's electric razor; that's kinda cool. I have the hammer that my dad once used to smash his thumb. I keep it because it was his but I'm not about to smash my thumb with it just for the sake of nostalgia.

I've tried three different electric razors and each one irritated my skin and made it itch like crazy, especially on my neck, but to each his own.

I have great faith in fools - self confidence my friends call it.

For some reason, the few times in my life that I tried an electric razor, not 1 hair was removed. Maybe it's the type of beard I have, but them foil razors are useless to me.

Same for me. I tried three different electrics, and I can't call what I got from any of them a shave.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I have a Braun, one of the "good" electrics; it used to chew up my neck pretty good.

I'll admit - I still use an electric shaver from time to time - but not to shave... usually to use the clipper attachment to cut the long arse hair from my wife's cat while she holds it down.

It was 1973 or so. I was still shaving with a Gillette DE and probably platinum plus blades, or a Schick injector IIRC. I was watching a television commercial about the Remington electric shaver. I thought it would be faster than the contraptions I had been using. No muss, no fuss. What a disappointment. It took 3 or 4 times as long, and I never did get what I would call a close shave. I tried it a few times and threw it in a drawer .... maybe gave it away ...... I can't recall. If one works for you You're luckier than I was.

The only reason I read this post is because what I saw read : When i'm horny in the morning, I use my braun (It all changed once I put my glasses on). Hey... perhaps Braun could use that in their advertising-might sell a whole new generation on electric razors.

Anyone else that uses an electric shaver more or less often?
I once had a electric shaver that I liked but in moving from place to place I lost the plug to charge it so I no longer have one.

I got a Braun for Christmas many years ago. I used it maybe 2 or 3 times and shelved it. The shave wasn't particularly close, and at times it felt like some whiskers were being ripped from my face instead of being cut. Oddly enough, it didn't give me any razor bumps or burn on my neck, something cartridges were notorious for

It's still sitting in a basket in my bathroom. Every now and then I consider taking it for a whirl just out of morbid curiosity, and then..... I don't.
