Unless I'm out of town, I'd be happy to join the fun. I can even carry most of my razor collection with me.

Thanked: 3215A couple of weeks ago Shane (RoyalCake) and I met at my home for some honing pointers on a couple of razors that were fighting him. I made some suggestions on his technique and tuned up his hones, rounding corners that may have been causing some chipping and Introduce him to film honing.
Yesterday I received this gorgeous inlet, purpleheart razor box that Shane made.
Thank you very much, Shane.
I stuffed it with 4 of my favorites, a Vintage TI - Spartacus, Clauss - Persian, Hammered tang - Cmon and No. 79 SRD
Thanks again Shane.
Looking forward to the LA meet the second Sunday of January 2014 12-5 PM.
I will send the details to all who have responded to this thread after the First of January.

P.S. What's the agenda if any? Just basic fun, and show and tell, or...???

Thanked: 284Yes unfortunately I didn't get around to thanking Marty on the forum yet but his help was priceless. I think I may have actually been doing some damage at the higher grits due to some edges I had on those hones.
Like everyone says here - meeting up with someone more experienced is invaluable.
You're very welcome on the case - the least I could do!

Thanked: 3215As far as agenda, I have a variety of stones and film in case anyone wants to try different stones and mostly just show & tell.
If anyone wants help on anything special let me know so we make sure to have anything we will need.
5 hours will go pretty quickly. I’m looking forward to it.
Bring your latest project or problems.

I still have it on my schedule. I can bring Nanawa stones. I have several razors to restore. Still trying to manage my time to get to them. Was hoping to have 2 done by now but work is relentless. This past week I decided to hone all the new to me razors to see how they shaved. They all took a great edge. I shaved with two Wade Butchers already, just sweet shavers. Up tomorrow is the Spike. I think I now have pictures of them all and will post.
I can also bring a small anvil so those who want to practice pinning can give it a whril. Maybe some one has some practice scales?
