Thanked: 3795I'm trying/hoping to set up a live video feed from my microscope to a digital camera to a video screen. I have two cable options: one that feeds to a USB end and one that feeds to three HDTV ends. That latter look like old stereo cables and there are three of them--one each of red, yellow, and white. Both cables are only three feet long.
If Bob or someone else can provide a small monitor with USB input or a small TV that would fit on a table-top, then I might be able to get live viewing under the scope. This would make it easier for everyone to see what we're talking about.
Edit: I know nothing about modern televisions. I've never bought a television in my life because I realized something early on--if you see a TV on the curb the day after Christmas, you can have yourself a perfectly good TV. Anyway, I know nothing about any TV made after about 1980. So I don't know about their inputs but I spoke with someone today and was told the cable I have is for RCA inputs. Apparently the more modern TVs have HDMI inputs, so is THAT the cable that I should buy to accomplish this?Last edited by Utopian; 04-10-2014 at 05:04 PM.

To the Chicago-land Str8 Rzrs club members,
I hope you all got as much out of the meetup as I did. Thanks to everyone who brought food, snacks, beverages, tables, chairs, etc. We all helped make the meetup successful. I loved stropping, polishing, honing, using the microscope on Allan's computer. Watching everyone with great work with passion on our hobbies was very satisfying to me. Looking forward to next meetup. I will assist with whomever would like to take some reigns and host. You were all so nice and everyone brought so much diversity, made for a great day. Keep shaving and wish you all a great summer.

Thanked: 3795I brought too much stuff again. We did not use most of it again. We did not cover everything we planned to cover again. I talked too much again.
But,
Bob was a great host again.
I got to meet new and old friends again.
I had fun again.
And,
I look forward to doing it again!

Every time we meet, I accomplish at least one feat that I've never managed before. That alone makes it successful.
But I also get to play with like 50 things I've never played with before. And that makes it _so cool_.
Thanks to Gonzo for hosting again, and to all who came. Thanks too to Stirling's, Mike's Natural Soaps, and Mama Bear for providing soap samples!Keep your pivot dry!
