Thanked: 3After watching, listening and participating I will attest that Utopian is a very competent honer/ restorer! I was very impressed, to say the least with Ron's knowledge and ability to not only explain but demonstrate the problems you might encounter and how to correct them. I left the meet today much, much more confident after learning how to identify potential problems. Not only how to ID them but the ability to see them and what to look for, and how to correct them. What a great help he was! I give him a 5 stars for not only being patient with many of my newbe questions but also being patient enough to thoroughly explain every aspect of what I might be missing within the question I was asking. Wow what a patient and knowledgeable teacher. All in all he just helped me in my new found interest in this hobby. I can not for the opportunity to participate in another meet up. And I hope it's sooner than later. Thanks!

It's the damnest thing. I remember it distinctly, but turns out, IT NEVER HAPPENED.
(I actually can't believe we all space on pics. Too excited about hooking the microscope up to the monitor, I guess! And about soap samples. And, I think, pipe smoking. It all happened so fast…)Keep your pivot dry!

Thanked: 3795I'm sorry to say that we just didn't get to everything, including photography! Gonzo, our host, went to the trouble of getting an HDMI cable and adapter for me to connect my scope to his large TV that he relocated for us, but we never got around to hooking it up. I was really looking forward to seeing if/how it would work but there just wasn't enough time for everything. Still, I had a great time.

Utopian,
I look forward to seeing and hearing about your camera hooked up to an HD television. We tried to cover most topics. We did not pin or trade soaps. If there was something someone wanted to see we asked, I did, I still am no where closer to buying JNAT's, but that because of thhe costs. I love the hones I have right now. I do want to get a rougher like a 220 or 440 naniwa superstone.
We are going to try and have some mini meetups and go over more stuff and help each other learn. Sounds great to me.
Thanks again Ron, you were stellar and so accommodating.I am very appreciative of all the knowledge and sharing each and everyone has provided me with. Look forward to future endeavors with many of you.
Gonzo

Thanked: 3795If need be, we could skype for part of the mini-meet if that would be of benefit. Of course, you'd have to ship the beer to me in advance!
