Thanked: 4826Inexpensive airfare. Reasonable hotel rates and things for wives to do. I am thinking if there was going to be a great place Vegas would be it.

Vegas would have a LOT going for it. I'm wondering when would be the best time of year for something like that. IMO winter months would be out due to airport issues in the colder parts of North America. On the other hand I don't know if Vegas has a "busy" season?

Would be a great place , because vacations could align around it , and there does happen to be a very well known razor maker there , not to mention a couple places to get a shave, lots of get together rooms , it would be appealing. Tc

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that has interest in this. I can envision custom razor, brush, strop and soap makers all showing their wares. Seminars, special guests, areas dedicated to honing, restoring and razor building, some actual shave stations and a show and swap meet would all be good. The best part would be getting to meet a lot of the fine folks from here on the forum.
Las Vegas would be great. Anywhere else would be great too.

Several years ago they tried to put together an SRP National Show. The problem is one person has to ramrod it and in this case the hotel wanted cash up front and a lot of it as well as guarantees on rooms and it just never came together. They decided small shows like the ones we have now are the way to go.

Once you get over a certain amount of people it becomes hard to fond a place to hold the meet. It's not to hard to find a garage or a back room in a restaurant for 10 or 15 people, but you start hitting 40 or so and you need larger venues and they expect a certain amount of money. I am having to sign a minimum guarantee for this years Seattle meet. Our group needs to eat/drink a certain amount worth of food. If they don't, I need to come up with the rest.
On a side note, I think it might be beneficial if you included other mens/traditional grooming products like mustache wax, beard pil, pomade etc...The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Thanked: 2209Putting on a razor meet in Las Vegas would take lot of work and money for both the building and insurance. People would be deterred by the cost of transportation and lodging. The number of vendors who will send samples is large but very few will attend or pay for booth space. The crowd size wiil be to small to justify the expense.
