Yep. 1000 miles from our place to Burkburnett. Don't want to think about driving from Mass.

Do you have someone to help drive?

No, I'd be flying solo on this trip. The mileage calculator said aprox. 1,760 miles one way. That means about 3 days driving down and 3 days driving back. When I get a chance I'm going to check airfare and car rental.
I'm still thinking it would be worth the effort. What better does an old retired guy have to do anyway?

Check out the airfare to either Dallas or Oklahoma City. One of us can pick you up and take you back to the airport.

5-6 days on the road is a long time, especially in the winter thru the Midwest and points farther north.

Randy, Thanks for the more than generous offer. I'll do some homework when I get a chance and try to sort things out. If the stars all align, and this is a go, I will keep you posted. For now I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Hey, you've got three months to find a carpool partner! I've got friends in MA I would love for you to bring along, but unfortunately they are not interested in straight razors.

You should be able to find someone along the (very long) route who would be willing to share the expenses.
