Charlie, again THANK YOU for the hospitality, use of your stuff , and allowing me to pick at your brain. That goes for everyone else I bothered while there. Sure hope I can make the meet in Iowa.
So Paco, where all did you end up going on your trip West? Did you get to ski? It was good seeing you again.

could not get the wife to go farther west for skiing. We went to Lubbock for a few days, then to Abilene, Luckenback, then a state park in west La.,near Lake Charles. The last stop was Palmetto island SP., that Carolyn really likes. Stayed there a week.

Bill , How did your razor turn out?

By the way how did everyone's razors turn out? I have not finished mine yet.

Not done yet, but it don't look to bad so far. We may have to start a thread to track all the razors made by us hacks to see the progress. Tc

I like that idea. After going through the pictures and videos, I'm pretty curious as to how they all turned out. Some cool looking stuff!

    TC,
That is a good idea. We could post pics with the scales attached and other refinements that were done to the razors. I know that the blades that I saw had really good potential which actually was all of them.

    Cheers,
    Bill

No scales for mine yet but I have used it . I have a nice set of blanks from dave but don't like big bulky scales that it takes to cover the bigger blade. I don't want to experiment with the nice material. I may have to make a test set or 2 or 3 out of something else to give it a try.

Popsicle sticks might be too small for you blade Tim, how about paint sticks to experiment with? Would be thin enough and plenty of material , I don't know about you but my paint store gives me a bunch for free. Tc

Check the second picture in post 354. They don't look the greatest in toungue depresors.... Maybe if I wrapped them in paracord?

    Thanks for the great idea!

    Paco,
I honed it on Sunday and shaved with it on Sunday night. It actually shaved nicely. I am pondering modifying it a bit by maybe wrapping the handle with something cool looking, haven't decided with what yet. Glad your trip turned out well for you and especially your wife. Cheers, maybe is the stars stay in line I will see you in Iowa.
