Default Any interest in a Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mini Meet?

No, we won't be having any Celebrity Honemeisters attending, like Lynn or Glen. But there is a chance we could muddle through any issues someone might have.

I would like a show of hands first, so I can figure out some sort of venue.... a couple of guys at a corner table wouldn't raise too many eyebrows, but a dozen guys waving straight razors around in public might garner a different reaction. Best to be prepared.

So if you are interested, add a post below this one. I think I'll leave this up for a week, to gauge the interest and I'll make a new post when it's sorted out.

    Regards

I would be willing to go, depending on when it happened and weather permitting.
I'm 4-5 hours (depending on my speed) away from Winnipeg.
Is it over there or over yonder?

I like the idea and the Peg is only an 8hr car ride away. Let me know if you are having one next year in the spring May/June when the weather is nicer.

    Agreed.
It's a 9 hour drive for me, and Randy usually is pretty amenable to road trips, but it would not happen before or during snow season. Also, for that kind of distance a two day meet-up would need to be considered. I know this is beyond what you tossed out but just adding this as a possible option.

Alternatively, you guys could rent a van and drive south!

Hey, it's only like 3600KMs one way from NS?!?!? For 29 years I walked about 12500 kms/year.... Sure, my leg and my back gave out, but still....

I checked the member list and there should be more Manitoba members, but perhaps they don't check out the forum that often.

Utopian, thanks for thinking of us up North.... Let's see if we can't swing a larger meet this coming year when water turns to liquid again.

Bobh and Willisf, I look forward to seeing you both next year, I cannot ask anyone to drive that far, this late in the year... The weather is just too unpredictable, and we're living on borrowed time, snow wise... There's a reason why we have those lockable gates across #1 highway, and I hate it when people get stuck here.

Any other locals wanna chime in?

    Regards

Cool that you are doing this! It could very well be that there are more members near you. But often people only stay for a while and leave again so many of them may not active on here anymore

I periodically do go to Winnipeg to visit family and the mother in-law. Next time I am heading there I'll let you know and maybe we can do a "meet up" for giggles. My mother in-law lives in North Kildonan and my wife knows the city really well.
Is it over there or over yonder?
