Had some time today to play with the blade i made. I don't know how you pros go to mirror polish. I can't get all the 600 greaseless marks out no matter how hard I try. It still looks decent for a 1st attempt, so I'm not going to struggle any more with that. I might just blue the whole thing anyway. Scales soon. I got some g10 liners for the ironwood because there are so many voids I'm afraid they will snap when thinned down.

Hand sanding with 600 grit, and higher if needed, will help you eliminate the greaseless scratches. Then you can go back to the buffer.

I wanna see what you come up with scales for that.

I made one last year with a similar smile and no scale pattern fits and/or looks right in my opinion.

They will have to be quite curved. Not sure what I'm gonna do. I will likely go back with wet dry to try and remove more scratch marks before going forward.

This one started out with a frown and ended up straight.

Forget the scales, just use it like a kamisori.
