Thanked: 2209I just want to extend a big Thankyou! to Bonnie & Dave for their hospitality.
Once again it was a great razor meet.
There were a lot of really nice straight razors and guys who knew how to hone them. There was a focus this time on strops, making new ones and restoring old ones. I tried my hand at restoring 4 old strops that were unusable and managed to get them to a point where they are now functional as either a finishing strop or as an abrasive pasted strop. I also learned that next time I will do it a bit differently!
There was, as usual, a whole lot of good food! My diet went kaput for those 3 days.
I think it was beneficial to not have a very large group. It allowed us to get to know each other and learn from each other much more.
I do look forward to Daves next razor meet.Last edited by randydance062449; 10-03-2018 at 04:42 AM.

I scheduled this year a month earlier than last year which was the end of October. The weather should have been a little warmer in September.
It was 37f Saturday morning. 84f at 10:00 last night.
Ah well, maybe next year.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

One thing we can't control is the weather.
Unless you count my sunny disposition. I hope I can make it next time!

Hey Dave!
During a discussion about putting water in bourbon I was using the terms hydrophobic and hydrophilic and you stated that these were not legitimate words.......... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrophobic_effect
We should have brought this up with Ray the following day as he is very knowledgeable about such things. I just remembered this exchange while reading one of Ray's posts.Last edited by bluesman7; 10-11-2018 at 02:50 PM.

It's Saturday morning.
The wife is home and makes breakfast on weekends.
Today was a mushroom omelette and cheese with bacon on the side.
This was my first chance to try the pepper vinegar that I won in the raffle.
Like Victor and Tom said, Man That's Good!!!
Very tasty and just spicy enough. Took the eggs to the next level and beyond!
Bravo!! and thanks again Dave and Bonnie.
