I spoke with Allan Boyd last week and told him about it. I will try to make sure he comes. He wants to see you all again and looks forward to it.
I’m looking forward to seeing, and learning from you all. I never leave a meetup with less knowledge. I always am thankful to all that taught me so much. I will go through and look for some strops and such. I want to learn about making strops and this should be a great experience learning from you all again.
The best to you Obie, Thanks David and hope everyone’s summer is going well.Last edited by Gonzo4str8rzrs; 08-05-2018 at 02:05 AM.

Looks like a great bunch,! Sadly, unless I can share the trip with someone else driving, I shall not be able to join you folks.

We like this
Of course, with a 1/2 lb of bacon, it has to be good
Tomato pie. Bake 375 degrees
1 9 inch pie crust
4 large tomatoes ( peeled/squeezed whole to remove juice/sliced)
1/2 cup basil
3 onions (chopped)
1/4 cup green pepper (chopped)
1/2 lb. bacon ( cooked/drained) (8 slices)
1/2. tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. Red pepper flakes
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or 1/2 cheddar and 1/2 mozzarella)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
Bake pie crust 10 min. Until light brown
Peel tomatoes ( put in boiling water for 3-4 min. Skins will peel off)
squeeze out juice - slice - pat on paper towel
To eliminate as much liquid as possible
Alternate layers of ingredients into pie crust.
Mix cheese and mayo. Spread on top.
Cover pie with foil. Bake 25 min.
Remove foil bake 20-25 min. more until top is brown bubbly. If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
