I've got one of the older (second gen I think) GP scuttles (the jacket does not run under the bowl). I'd be happy to bring it along. I believe Joe was interested in trying it as well.

Wait, are you really not coming? Or was that a joke? (I just can't tell). I was toying with the idea of throwing a blade up for grabs... It'll depend on whether or not I can afford to give one away (gotta look at the books).

PS: Who's getting excited? I am!

Syslight has told me he could NOT make the meet in a Pm last week. He will be with is in spirit and we thank hhim greatly for the door prize.

Yea Holli, I'd like to try your scuttle. It's been on my wish list for a while but it always seens like there is one more blade I need no matter how many I have!? I've got a baby food warmer dish I picked up that works good as a scuttle. It's almost time to put that back in service.

I'm getting excited and am anxious to meet everyone not to mention see their gear and learn more from everyone. I'm putting together a paddle strop as a second door prize and should have that done in time also. This is getting exciting!!

The meeting will be held at my home in Williamson on Nov 9 11 am to whenever. I will send a pm out to all attending with directions.

Right now there are 3 confirmed people cassady, holli4pirating and Scott, with possibly coachmike and guji if schedule permits.

I have invited a special guest. my barber, he has been a great source of tips and general information regarding razors and used to give shaves with str8's himself. I think he would be a great addition to the group. At this point he has not comfirmed he can make it but will do his best to do so.

Please feel free to bring whatever str8's, hones. strops, soaps, creams ect you want to share or to get advise on. I do have a small workshop with a bandsaw and benchgrinder that I have been working on some restos. If you have any str8's that you would like to discuss resto issues please feel free to bring them along. If you want to shave test any blades please bring along your personal brush for sanitary reasons.

There will be chili and homemade bread and knowing Karen probably some other baked goods to munch on during the day. I will be providing coffee, soda, and some beer. If you have a preferred beverage please feel free to bring that along. (coffee is home roasted and ground)

Also if you are into cigars please feel free to bring a few and we can have a cigar swap.

Please feel free to bring along the ladies if they are interested in attending.

There will also be a gift for all attending. This is a thank you for all who attend

I look forward to seeing everybody on the 9th.

    Joe

    Gents,

Just a quick note: I got a pile of stuff moved to my desk at work yesterday, which needs to be moved on by Monday, so I'm not sure that I will make it tomorrow. I'm going to work all day today, and hopefully will get through enough to make it, but it doesn't look promising. So feel free to start without me, and, either way, I'll be there in spirit.

    cheers,

    cass

Goos luck Cassady. Hope you can make it but understand if you can't.
