Thread: Shaving Collectibles Extravaganza

Hi Guys,

We have agreed to participate in a get together this year on 10/9 and 10/10 in West Chester, OH (Near Cincinnati). This should be a really great event this year as it is being sponsored by the National Shaving Collectibles folks, The National Shaving Mug Collectors Association and Straight Razor Place.

We are looking for a few people who would like to lead a discussion or do a presentation/demonstration on anything from beard prep to shaving to honing or anything else related. If interested let me know, please.

I was talking to Jerry from Shaving Collectibles and they are looking forward to some demonstrations on honing and shaving along with some straight razor discussion and q&a's.

It sure is. Still may be an admission charge. I'm not in charge of that......lol, but I think it includes lunch, prizes, drawings and stuff.

I really enjoyed it last year and there should be a ton more to look at and hear this year.

I missed last year, but I'll be at this one!!

I can bring my laptop and microscope to show the progressions of the blade during the honing steps. I sure would like to see one of your blades compared to mine to see where my next level is supposed to be.

A shave session can be arrainged as well. I can only do one per day. I will work on a display wall with a mirror for others to use/shave. BYOR and BYOBrush. I can also bring my collection of goodies.

This sounds like it could be a whole lot of fun!

Am I assuming correctly that the registration is for displays and such, and regular visitors may have a small entry fee?

If I am in a decent financial situation (for plane, hotel) by then and could make it I'd do whatever kind of presentation you'd want. That's extremely tentative though! lol

Just received a request to see who would like to do a presentation at this get together. It can be on any straight razor topic......History, shaving demo, restoration, honing........
