Well, I am not too sure about my hotel, but it's a bed.
I am ready. I think I am going to walk to the restaurant so I don't have to find parking. Hope everyone arrived safely and we'll see you tomorrow (unless you are buying dinner tonight then I am there).
speaking of which, where is a good place for dinner downtown?

    Unbelievable:::

I just packed an entire suitcase full of rocks

I was going to use one of those big Tupperware boxes, until I carried it downstairs and said "Holy Crap Batman that weighs a ton" so I loaded them all into a rolling bag

    See you guys at noon

I can't speak for Gerrit but I can say it was nice being able to put a face to the name. Everyone was very friendly had a good meal or 2. I was kinda surprised that I was the only women of 3 that were there that used a straight at all let alone on a regular basis. I am not very interested in honing but had a good time listening. Thank you very much for setting up the meet and I hope to here Gerrit saying there is another we will be able to go to. Nanna

So, we had a great time. There were a lot of door prizes. Soaps out the yinyang. Glen's razor, which now belongs to Golfnut. Golfnut brought his wife who was kind enough to donate a couple of razor rolls to the mix. A lather bowl, mug and scuttle. Wow I can't even remember what else.
As Nanna said we both had a blast I got some video which I will be looking at when I get home tonight (hopefully it is post-worthy).
I learned a lot. Glen went over some different honing techniques including some breadknifing. We discussed a little about restoration and pin tightening. And of course there was a thorough layer of BS thrown in the mix.

A special thanks to those who donated, especially those who weren't even there.

I am glad it came together and I will get cracking on that video.

So a nice get together after all... Great Food, Great Company, and shiny sharp things what more could you ask for

Oh yeah perhaps that I remember to bring the camera, and not just the tripod

If the video of the chip removal comes out decent that will be a major plus... **crossing fingers***

Ok, just watched the video, it would be better if someone would stop putting stuff between the stone and the camera.
Seriously it turned out ok. I'll try to post when I get back on a computer. I realize now I should have just sent the dvd with Glen.
Nanna got all the way through the bevel set and the angle is just about perfect. We may have to subsidize the talking though. There was a lot of background noise. Something about santa claus from another table and some bad muzak. Total was about six minutes from chip to bevel set with some talking and passing the razor. In all reality it would most likely have been three without the teaching and me stealing Glen's spray bottle and rags.

I know folks asked for pics but we were generally too busy goofing around...I mean discussing serious razor topics to take pics but I did get these during a "break"

Glen...Being his charming self and then deighaingeal working on honing

wish I had gotten a group pic but oh well

Thanks to Glen for getting this set up and rolling. I'll look forward to doing meets with him and the rest of the guys in the future.
