Anyone from Milwaukee
Gentlemen:
I used to work in Menomonee Falls, on Shady Lane, at the former classical radio station WFMR. Imagine playing Mozart and Beethoven early in the morning on a street called Shady Lane.
Well, the radio station is gone. Classical radio in Milwaukee is gone, period. That's what's known as progress.
Stay well. Maybe I'll see you at the flea market Saturday.
Regards,
Obie

Im bummed that I could get up there today. Did anyone have a chance to make it up to the market? Any hidden jews up there?

i made it out to the flea market. While there were no Jews hiding in the flea market there were a few razors. Only about 10 razors or so there. I purchased a Milwaukee Barber Supply Co. Razor with its original box (however, not the original scales). It needs minimal work, the scales are clearly a custom job that the seller probably did, but they did a rather poor job pinning it and the opening seems a little short as the tip of the blade is almost flush with the end of the scales when in a closed position. Im working on a few project razors at the moment and after I feel comfortable making my own scales and cleaning up a razor I will hopefully get this one cleaned up and add it to my rotation.

That sounds great. Are they the same vendors every weekend?
I am going to make a trip up there next weekend, There is a indoor "antique" market in downtown Milwaukee on second street. I stopped by the other day to check it out. There were maybe 10 razors no jems most in fair shape but these guys were asking crazy prices. Mostly rusted and cracked scales. There were no razors under 20.00.
I guess the fun is in the search.

By the way fellow Wisconsin members if anyone spots a Hess 44 out there with good scales let me know. Blade condition not important. I have a nice blade that needs a back scale.

they dont have a flea market every saturday. However the store is open monday - saturday from 10 - 5 so you can stop in any time. It is entirely possible that those razors will still be there. Nothing amazing, but all but 1 razor were under 20$ so it may be worth checking it out.

Hello, Speckey:
You did not miss much. I was up that way for some shopping and on my way stopped by the antique place someone here had suggested. They had about seven or eight junk straight razors, including several with badly chipped blades. It was a waste of time for me.

Need to find a good sot to seek out some gems. There have to be razors out there just calling to be reanimated.
