Thanked: 3You are very close to me. I'm sure it would be very interesting to meet other people that are into straight razors.
I could bring a few of my friends and family that think I'm a bit strange for using a straight.

Thanked: 3Well they already know I'm not normal. Spring is very busy time for me, but if I can find the time I might like to stop by and see whats going on.
Will there be vendors? Razors, strops, soaps/oils/lotions, hones, are all on my list, just don't tell my wife.

Yup -- but I'm still using my straights (and my Shaptons!), although when I was traveling I carried a Dovo shavette. I didn't use it all that much, as I would just go to the barber's three times a week for a shave (also with a shavette-type razor)!
It'll be good to see everyone!

Four more weeks till the meet!! For those of you coming from out of town and/or plan on being with us for dinner on Friday evening and/or lunch on Saturday afternoon let us know if you have any special food needs and we will do our best to have something on hand that will agree with you. We also usually have bagels and bagel egg sandwiches Saturday morning and coffee, tea and soft drinks throughout the meet. Also it would be a good idea to start listing any special wet shaving interests (keep it clean) anyone attending may want to share with all of us or see performed by someone that has experience in the topic. Carrie and I would like to start putting together a shopping list and I would like to be sure any equipment and tools are ready. Our goal is for everyone to have a good time, see some of everyone else's shave gear (if you know of any specific razors of mine you would like to see let me know) and share techniques in shaving, honing and razor restoration. We always learn something new at these meets and we hope those of you that join us will also. Lastly, we do not allow anyone to drive drunk when leaving our home. If you plan on more than social drinking don't plan on driving. We're looking forward to seeing our friends from previous meets and those of you new to our meets. Drive safe and beware of speed traps on Rt 104 and most every other major road in Upstate New York.
