Thanked: 3795Well, I guess Benjamin and I are not carpooling! Hopefully I'll be able to attend one of your future meet-ups. Have a great time!

If it were a little closer, or gas a little cheaper, I would have been all over another road trip. Unfortunately, to make things fit with my work schedule flying was the best option... MO meet we will have to try and coordinate, if Sybil decides not to go. And we still need to drive down to Florida for our JimmyHAD razor ink...

Thanked: 3795I completely understand. I just started my new job two weeks ago so my departure is not an option. I only live 70 miles from Decorah now so I'll likely hit you up for a shop visit some time soon though. I'll keep you posted on Sybil's Mid-MO likelihood. Finally, yes, a tat from Jimmy would be the only reason for me to ever do something as ridiculous as...
going to Florida!
Have a safe trip and show 'em how a Midwestern boy can pin a razor!!!

Man, I'm really glad I missed this thread. I'm way too busy to do anything fun these last two weeks of school, but I would have been too tempted by this meet. Too late now, so the burden of choice is off my shoulders.
Have fun everyone! And post pictures

Well the meet is over but I am still recovering. I must be getting older faster than I thought. I was really whooped Saturday evening, Sunday and most of today.
Carrie, Jr and me would like to thank everyone for joining us and contributing to a fun meet with good friends and lots of great razors to see! It was a more casual meet but we did get some blade restoration, rescaling and honing in to be sure. I didn't take any pictures but I did see Stimpy and maybe someone else taking some shots. I'm sure Stimpy will get the pics he took posted as soon as he finds some time. We hope everyone got home safe and sound.
Carrie is already talking about the next meet! Keep it in mind and if anyone has a preferred date let us know.

I had an awesome time, which is exactly what I expected. It's tough to match the hospitality of the hosts, and we really gave a great group up here. For me, it's more like a reunion than a razor meet. And having Benjamin come into town made it all the better. A big thanks to everyone involved, and I'm excited for the next one.
And yes, I am pooped too. I'll definitely be going to sleep early tonight and sleeping late tomorrow.

I don't want to bore anyone with a 'me too' posting, but it was a great meet. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new folks, show and tell is always fun, and special thanks to JoeD who took the time to give me a polishing tutorial. And to Benjamin, who was patient with my pinning questions. And to Carrie, for the amazing chili, and hot pepper jam.
Looking forward to the next one!
