Thread: Atlanta GA & the SE States - Meetup Feb 4th-5th 2012

Hello Everyone. WHAT A GREAT MEETUP!!! Thanks to every one that came, I counted 30 in the room at one point and made this day such a success! It was just great to meet people in person.

Thanks to all of the vendors for such generous samples and give aways. I know if I try to thank them all individually I will miss some so Mr. Moose, please take that over for me. A special thanks to Lynn and SRD for the great soaps, strops, razor and the "Bubbarubber" and most of all for the teaching and taking the time to come down to be with us.

I think that everyone had a great time on Saturday and the day just flew by. I don't think anyone left empty handed we had so many great give aways thanks to not only the vendors, but our members as well. Very generous people INDEED!

I think next time we will reserve the North Room as it is a little larger and probably cooler, but the Eagle's Nest was a great place to have the first Atlanta Meetup.

Great Pics everyone. I took my camera and never took the first shot! Keep on posting those pics that were taken.

By the way, we did pick up some converts (4 or 5) yesterday and I know them all. Happily they are my own wet shaving converts that I fish with at the AFFC. It is never too late to take the next enlightened step!

That looks like a great Get Together! I saw some familiar faces in the pics, Simon, Joe, Lynn, Sicboater. Wish I could have been there. Hope to see Lynn next Friday at Mike Blues workshop for the Damascus class and razor meet.

Wish you could have been here too Buddy! Simon, Joe and I had sushi on friday night and it reminded me of being in Asheville and cleaning a platter of rolls with you!

my 3 ultra-sharp filas all struggled for lack of good stretching and some of the most gnarly tough beard hair I have ever witnessed and we had to switch to a feather DE. more swirls then a chef's batter had me struggling to go WTG for more then a centimeter at a time causing a bit of a ATG burn where the neck hair turned suddenly into chest hair. sure wish simon were around to do it right, a dozen weepers and half a block of alum later at least he was still smiling through the pain

yeah not immediately noticing the 180 degree change in hair growth on the neck was the big foo-bar. next time i try shaving someone else I will be sure to pay careful attention to the direction of growth.
