My daughter got sick yesterday so I was on cuddle duty. No offense, but snuggling all afternoon on the couch with my 7-year old, knowing that she's not going to want to cuddle with her old man for much longer, beat out spending the afternoon talking razors with y'all. Next time, Gadget....

Brian & Alan,
Much thanks for putting this together!! I kind of thought that we'd be watching a couple of you go through a parts of a restore and taking notes and tips/cues, not actually hands-on with our own razors.. absolutely not, to my fantastic surprise. Given the notice that we got about bringing our own project razors, I probably should have thought about or traced out at least a shape of scales, regardless... the finished scales Brian helped me with came out sweet. way nicer final execution than the initial rough version and I was getting nervous I had removed too much material to even be able to scale any razor with...
Brian (great host!) thanks for the attention and time towards the end, some guys might have just said, " that's the scales, you can finish on your own" but you stuck it out to the very very end...
It was great putting faces with names and checking out the very nice gear people brought.. and discussing likes and dislikes of razors, strops, hones and very exciting seeing Brian (and John's) stash of materials. I gotta get Brian's source for my stocking workshop...
it truly is kinda fun to talk face-to-face about this hobby/past-time, sometimes evening digging into the fun minutiae of wedges, materials, thicknesses, angles, etc...
I'll post a picture of the razor/scales very soon!
Great time guys.. i really appreciated the effort in setting it up and people showing up.

BTW, my daughters both had the sniffles yesterday... they didn't want me to leave and it broke my heart to go, but when i came home, there is nothing like the feeling as when they are so excited to see me and hear about my adventure..
