I wanted to thank Eric for hosting the event and everyone for sharing their knowledge. It was definitely a blast. Due to popular demand, here's the 411 on the grub:
Burgers
-2.25lbs ground pork
-2.25lbs ground beef
-Black peppr
-Crushed chillies (I also added a bit of some Mexican hot sauce but not enough as they turned out milder than usual)
-Vegeta mix (it's a mix of dried veggies and salt or MSG, in this case the non-MSG version, you can get it at No Frills, blue bags or blue round cardboard "cans") or you can use straight up salt or MSG, to taste
-5 cloves of garlic
-1/3 cup of dry parsley flakes
-Mix well, let sit overnight, make patties, throw on the BBQ, enjoy
Chicken (in this case boneless skinless drumsticks)
-Just leave in the marinade overnight, grill on high for 2min per side (usually about 475) and then on low (350ish) for about 10-12min per side, but with poultry you gotta make sure it's properly cooked. Marinade is as follows:
-Garlic (pressed)
-Black pepper
-Parsley
-Vegeta brand MSG or MSG-free mix (optional but it really does improve the taste)
-Soya sauce (use more than usual if you won't do MSG)
-Worcestershire sauce
-Mustard (real stuff, none of that pasty yellow junk)
-Some lemon juice to make the meat softer
-Beer (Millennium Buzz)
-Sesame oil (be careful, only a couple of drops will do, it's very powerful stuff)

Thanked: 0Thanks Eric for hosting, Iliya for making stupid burgers that were freaking delish, Nate for honing up a new-old razor for me, James for the soaps and Colin for the razor itself! Everyone else I got to meet it was awesome meeting you all, I promise I've forgotten most of your names already (no offence, my memory is just shite!) but I look forward to meeting with you all again.
Cheers,
M.
PS. I shaved with the straight tonight. I'll apologize now, I didn't follow the proper advice and just shave a piece of a cheek...I did a full 3 pass (WTG, XTG, XTG opposite on neck/ATG sideburns and cheeks) shave tonight and it was AWESOME! Time to buy a strop...and hones?...LOL
