I was so shocked to hear this. I'm so sorry to hear this. I have been thinking of him lately & have been wondering why I have not seen him on here for awhile. There have been some times I wasn't on here due to some personal issues I have been having. That is why I have not posted SOTD's as much but I'm starting to again. I apparently missed the one dedicated to him.We even pm'd each other a few times & the last couple I wrote him I did not get a reply. I had no idea he was in bad health. I need to go to my doctor for a followup.
Rest in peace Bill!

Thanked: 480Pixel always made me (and plenty of others) feel welcome, and never talked down at me. I wish I had heard this sad news sooner. If his family is still reading these posts, know there is yet another person mourning his passing.
I wonder what hes turning on heavens lathe?

I've been off and on the forum since early April for a variety of reasons, and have missed a lot. In one of my "off" periods, I missed the news of Bill's passing.
A couple of years ago I PM'd him and told him I really wanted one of his brushes but hadn't quite matured enough in the art of shaving to know what I wanted. His reply was, "Don't worry, I plan to be around a while".
Luckily not too long thereafter I had experimented with some different soaps, creams and brushes, and wrote him again telling him what I thought I wanted. In response he found one of his creations that matched my wishes and gave it to me for a very fair price. I wrote a post about it when I first used it, but thought this might be a good place to share it again. It is one of my favorites and is used regularly, especially when I use a soap that's special to me. Here it is, as a salute to a great guy who treated this newcomer special.
The base is jade green soapstone with a large (15/16) Ivory inlay, the second band is muskox horn, and the top is white streaked Buffalo Horn. The knot is a TGN, 24mm two band finest....set perfectly for me. Thanks Bill, RIP.Just call me Harold
