    Default (Withdrawn) Nakayama Maruka

Nakayama Maruka Kan Asagi with base. The stone measures (max dimensions) 210 x 81 x 27 mm . The stone is lvl 5 hardness very fine and with moderate speed. It works well with a nagura progression followed by a tomonagura. It can be used with a diamod nagura as well. It produces a keen yet mild edge on a variety of steels. This is a very old stone, the Maruka stamp is faded (unlike the freshly stamped fakes that are flooding the market) and is easier to see with a naked eye than in the picture. One of the ends is chamfered (that is how I got the stone), but that does not effect honing. This will go away after some years of honing and lapping. The stone is lacquered with cashew lacquer.
PRICE = $550 shipped in US

Tempted. Shame the import duties into the EU are so prohibitive.
