    Default Nagura slurry stone

The 1K Chosera stone is sold with a companion Nagura slurry stone.

Does the Nagura make Nagura slurry or Chosera slurry?

And how about using the Nagura with higher grit stones, like the
    Naniwa 12K?

I actually chucked my nagura stone for my Chosera 1K because I didn't think it was necessary.

It is a mix of both slurries.
That stone that comes with the choseras is not slurry stone it is for conditioning AKA cleaning the surface of the stone.
I trashed mine as soon as I took them out of the boxes. I prefer to clean the stone surfaces with DMT or Atoma

A true slurry Nagura stone is very soft almost like a chalk.

OK. Thanks for that, but is the mixed slurry useful for honing, or is the Nagura
part of the mix too coarse?

You will have a mix of 600 grit and 1k grit, I did not particularly like to use it. The slurry from the conditioning stone will impart deeper scratches on the bevel, then you hav to clean the stone and use it again to get the 1k finish, for me that is one step too long.

I guess you could use it to clean a 12k but honing with slurry from it on the 12 would be a bad idea..

I'm looking at this one on eBay:

    Anybody confident with this Naniwa Nagura 65 x 47 x 32mm ?
I wonder, what is the grit of it and on which stones (grit) can I use it on efficiently ?

    the grit rating is ~600.
This is referred to as Nagura, but it is just a dressing stone. It is meant to clean the hone surface not for slurry generation, because it is very soft and releases particles in the slurry.
