    Default Vintage Thuringian score--double whammy

    My latest addition to my collection:

    a double layered Barbers Delight in a nearly mint condition with complete side and backlabel.
    it also has a stamp "Gold Medal" with the Eschers Cup left and right...it cost 21 german marks in the past it is written on one side with blue ink

    Very nice example!

    I think the price was 2,- Reichsmark not 21,- deutsche Mark.
    1 Reichsmark is equivalent to the value of about 6 $ today so twentyone Reichsmark would be more than 120 $ for one hone - seems a little bit too expensive since we know prices from cataloques with prices of less than 1 $ (even if the value of the $ has changed until today).

    I would hide that one! Great example of a NIB Escher.

    @Bram

    quite difficult, as far as i remember the last year it seems like flowing water at Online Plattforms sometimes there are a lot of stones around, sometimes there are no ones or only a few....best thing is to find shops which sell old woodworking tools...or going on Fleamarkets...

    Just wanted to add further old price lists to this thread...found no special Thread "onyl for Escher prices"....
    this one is from 1888....they write water hones, as you can see the picture they refer to "Escher & Co. Water Razor Hones"
