    Ooooooo

    Assuming you have no hones

    What I consider must have
    1-4-8

The Shapton 16 is a finisher all on it's own

Many of us that use Shaptons really like the 2 we feel it adds something special to the edge

The 30 is just a whole lot of money and I rarely use it, the razor has to be able to handle that edge

    Above is simply my opinion,

I use the 1-2-4-6-8-16-30 when I break out the Shaptons, I only use them now on razors that I know can handle the edge

I could shave comfortably for the rest of my days on just about any razor with the 1-4-8

Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I've been using the Atoma 400 and 1200 for about 6 months. These plates have made lapping a breeze.

Then I polish the stone surface with a well worn DMT 325.
