I like black tape to make for a stealth edge. That way the whiskers don't know what hit 'em or when or how...

P.S I don't bother with tape of any colour really. I like to keep it simple and wear hob nail boots and button on collars too.

If you know just enough about honing to be dangerous (me), you really should be using tape. Don't think of tape as "training wheels", because there are skilled honers that use tape, and there are those that don't.

Plus it looks tough. I'd scratch it up a bit too, maybe scratch a couple of skulls and knives and things in it; maybe dull black, maybe not the skulls and knives but yellow, military style writing; serial numbers, a bar code or two, include the word 'warning' or 'no step' or that radiation symbol, I'm not sure; the biker dull, scratched up black with skulls or the dull black military with yellow serial numbers? Could also go 80's punk rock shiny black, maybe with black and white squares. Your choice. I don't want to dictate or anything.

No. Well. You're not bored NOW; you've discovered the tape and popsticks, but BEFORE, before the tape and popsticks you were bored...

What you need Ed, is more kids or work to keep you busy! Then you won't be so bored.

He's an ELECTRICIAN. He takes the plastic off little bits of wire, twists them together and screws them in to little socket things. Of COURSE he needs more work!

Ok fellers, here is why white tape is the best general purpose colour.
1- it is easy to find the end of the tape if you have used it for fixing cables to a draw wire, and forgot to fold the end over.
2- you can write on it with marker pen if you are labeling stuff.
3- it's easy to see in your tool bag.
