The real question is this: If you lather your strop and tape your spine, will it affect the HHT?

I just tape kangaroos, it's so much more natural...

“The reality is once you bevel set your razor, you may never set the bevel again as long as you own it, unless you damage/chip it. In really it does not matter. Why not tape it then?”

If you tape once, twice or ten times setting a bevel will not change the angle enough to matter, certainly not enough to prevent the razor from shaving.

You tape the spine to protect and preserve the spine, especially as a novice when you are most likely to excessively wear a spine.
