I think the wire is for snagging it off the stove with a stick or picking it up with a towel. Handy though. You just wake up and give your raazor a few laps. Get out of bed and go shave. Don't get out of bed until the wife has a warm pot of water going on the fire :<0)

I'm taking it to the deer blind to keep me warm, and then use it to sharpen my knives to gutt and skin the deer. Lol

I'll bet that's why they auctioned it off, they got tired of lapping their bed warmer.

You know, bed warmer or machete hone, I think it's pretty neat. I like old and somewhat odd items. "Don't tell my wife I said that"

I am thinking now... You could get a chain for it and hang it around your neck. Stay warm all winter and hone on the fly. We have to make more of these...Call em, " hone on a rope warmers". I was thinking Pet Rock but that's already old and used.

I know they are hard working, honest and religous people and for whatever reason they used this stone it had to be out of necessity.

Read the book the communistic societys of the united states,Pure communism is a good thing as the amish, mormons, mennonites, Quakers practice it today,
I think this country would be a better place if we were all communists, nobody go's without, we all work for the better good of our people.

This is true. They have simple needs and a simple way of doing things. I bet not one of them has RAD or HAD. You'll have to do some investigating and find out. They may have used it for many things.

I hope you don't mind us funnin' around with ya to much. I have my share of laughs about myself and share when the moments right. :<0)

This is getting out of hand, this forum is about hones. not politics, haters and stones to wear around your neck! This hone is a Thuringian and for whatever reason these people auctioned off for I don't know. I know I plan on using it as hone because it is good for that. Thanks for any honest input and laughs, have a nice day everybody and happy shaving.
