    Nice combo. I do not think that those lines are manganese they are in my opinion more cracks/fissures which would not give you too much bother. Test it and you should see straight away.

    I think Stefan is correct - not manganese lines.

    yes, those are small cracks. Manganese is usually black.

    Many thanks Guys, you experts are probably correct about them being cracks ; but it does not appear to affect the overall smoothness when being used !
    In fact I cannot even feel them with a nail, so still very happy.
    Just got to learn to use it properly !!

    Just finished honing two razors and found the coticule great, really popping hairs before finishing on a Charnley.
    Very,very pleased as this is the first time honing to shave ready !
