P.S. Try the TARR aftershave..cheap but a real nice aroma and it grows on one. Was a German product in WWII.

Ran into the guy i bought the stone from.
Found out more about this stone today...it apears it belonged to a barber in our city...it was passed down to his son who passed it down to his son but the last two did not use it. The last one had no use for it so he brought it to the guy at the market and sold it....along with a bunch of razors of wich i bought a couple. So it is 3generations old...

The "mississippi stone" name was the name our opd barbers used for coti/bbw natural bicolor stone, but i dont know why because there is no conection betwen Belgiun and Mississippi.

So the stone has a story

Yes there is a lot of vintage equipment available but due to the fact that import was slim back in those days...most of the equipment you find is sevearly used...one can ocasionaly run into great finds but slim. The straight razor comunity is growing among youn people mostly because of curiosity, pride of ownership and the ritual of shaving...also cost is anoter factor....So when i go out picking on Saturday morning market i must go in early to have a biger chance of getting a nice piece...The number of individuals interested in these instruments is rapidly growing But it's quality fun with some bang for your buck.

Richard i am amazed one could know about that brand of aftershave...I had the impression that it was a brand made in our country and it's not surprising to me it's not. I remember my grandfater used it and i think my dad also used it a long time ago...You can still find it in almost every store who has basic shaving equipment and is realy cheap around 1$ mabe2.
I wil try it although i doubt it wil grow on me
P.s. The Puma is coming along quite nice mabe this weekend i can punch in the time to finish it. I managed to electrolise it to get rid of the rust spots and hand sand it 400-600-800-1000...still have to go 1k and 1,5k then hand polish. The scales will be buffalo horn and i hope i can save the logo and mount it on the new scales. I'll go with ss pivots or brass pins(haven't decided yet) on it and red frn spacer sandwitched betwen brass pieces...i'm taking pictures as i go.
