I don't know what a Welsh Thuringian is. I believe it is Welsh Slate, heavy as h*** .

Considering it was cheap $40.00 & came from one of our members who knows stones, I doubt seriously its a Thuringian.

It is not a Thuringian because it wasn't sourced from Thuringia, Germany.

What Jerry wanted to know is if we were talking about the Welsh Thuringian, which is a "nickname" for this Welsh hone.

I have a LM already, but smaller and have been having good results, but I've been reading some distinct clues. For example, slurry or no slurry? What kind of slurry? How many passes?

What have your experiments been with this hone?
