I contacted Manskim and he offered me a slightly more expensive stone, telling me it was his best.
But the price of that with 3 Nagura and a tomo is a bit beyond me at the moment.
I have just had 3 weeks off work so funds are at a bit of a low.
Also the stones i was looking at are 70mm width.
I think id rather wait a month and buy a 3" plus wide stone...
I can have a month playing with my new Gokumyo 20k ..yay.

I thought i'd need different stones for the pre work.
If i can do the whole thing on one stone then i'd do that.
Plus i want a stone 3 inches or more width.
Can the bevel be set on that stone?

to do all work on that stone you need the 3 naguras. however its way easier and faster to do bevel work and pre finish work on the syntets.

ofcourse you can set the bevel on a wide stone.

using the 3 step naguras is fun if you wanna be traditional.

I'm looking at stones 80mm or wider now.
I think i'd rather spend more and get some thing perfect.

Hello, since all these stones are different, they have different binder to abrasive ratios. A shubodani(I have 2) seem to have a good ratio and cut on the faster side for as hard as they are. Im not an expert but this is what Im thinking.
