    Default Honing kamisoris!!???

So i am about to get a kamisori and i have been reading and cking out some vids on how to hone these! Well i just saw this video and it goes against what ive seen around! Iwasaki, Mr. Ryoichi Mizuochi showing Iwasaki honing - YouTube
This guy from the Iwasaki you tube does a 50/50 hone... !? It confused me quite a bit... Please advise

watch it closer,, those strokes are not really the same on both sides

ps: I don't speak Japanese so I am not sure what he is explaining and how much is intentional and how much is just how he does things...

Thats what i noticed... I was thinking maybe his back stroke was weak... Lol... Seems it is slower... One person i read from was saying that by not going 50/50... Sooner or later we will change the original angle... I will be ordering a kamisori here soon! So i am trying to get as inform as possible! I regret not getting into razors while i was in japan! sure could have learned alot while there for 3 years

I have watched and read tons over the years, I put together a Vid of what I had learned and made sure I used all English terms LOL except for Kamisori and Nakayama hehehe
Watch a few of the vids out there start with one system and see where you get to, then on the next one switch it up and see where you get with that, most importantly how it fits how you shave the razor.

What is nice is you can adjust the edge from a strict traditional one side style to a more forgiving 50/50 style and it all seems to cut hair..

I stayed as traditional as I could find

you re not going to change any angles on a polishing stone.
I also thought the strokes were even but on the Omote he does full length stroke the Ura more like half.

I doubt the speed matters, provided the stroke is uniform

I used Gssixgun video as a guide for mine and 7 to 1 ratio and it worked wonderfully.
