Gc7 great to see your getting good results since I saw you at the last meet.. When my stone gets dirty from swarf and you will know believe me when it's dirty I use that lil stone that came with it.. I wet the suehiro and that lil stone .. I use the 1k Side first up and down the stone never across as it shows on the box.. Once the stone is clean move up to the 3 k side and do the same thing..

Are you guys finding any lil tricks on the last few strokes when finishing on the 20k.. I've been playing around with Jnats so I have forgotten how good the results are with the suehiros..

I think that you'll find that you won't need any special tricks with this stone. 20-30 passes on it after a 12k and you'll find the edge greatly improved.

Thanks- I'll try that little cleaning stone next time I use the 20K. I've been giving it a few quick laps with the DMT. My results have been pretty remarkable both from getting the blade very sharp based on HHT and from comfortable shave. It could be that I'm just getting better shaving with a straight and stropping but I won't complain because whatever it is its working better. I don't feel proficient enough to give you any last lap finishing tricks. I try to get as light as I can but still with enough weight to get feedback from the stone to the blade - that's all I got for you! :-)

Well, this stone is definitely on my list, waiting on a price quote for a full set of shapton glass hones right now then picking up one of these bad boys afterwards

Sometimes when the shave test's not quite right, 5 strokes dry on the 20k, a la barber hone may turn the tide.

ImQUOTE=kratos86;1333466]i have read many page about this stone....and I'm thinking of buying it, in order to make company to my Naniwa set stones (800-5000-12000)
The best price to buy it is toolsfromjapan?[/QUOTE]
I got mine from toolsfromjapan. Its the cheapest place to buy them. To Italy it would be €200 plus shipping but import tax is very expensive. I got stung £60 to the UK but I also got a chosera 1k so it would be halve (ish) that price. On the website it says takes a little longer time to be shipped as demand exceeds supply. I had to wait about a month.
Gx2.Japan-messershop.de also sell them at €255 plus immedeate shipping so its negligible in cost but many people from SRP have brought theirs from toolsfromjapan and can attest that Stu's a reputable vendor. Whichever company you go for you'll love this hone.

Stu was as nice as could be with my purchase. They were waiting for a new batch so mine took a while to ship and he contacted me and informed me of the situation. Highly reputable vendor!
