    Default Music to Hone By

I was wondering if anyone here listens to music while they hone? I remember a while ago there was a thread about listening to music while shaving so I'm just wondering if anyone listens to music while they hone? And I'm going to be getting a Norton 4/8k and a Naniwa 12k stone, can anyone tell me a good lapping stone to get?

i tried listening to music while honing a few times but i found that I'm much more confident in my honing routine when i can hear as well as feel the tactile response i get from the blade as it passes along the stone...the sound helps me keep the blade level and preform nice smooth consistent strokes...

I'm sure people with more honing experience than I have no problem though because they are much more practiced and confident in their skills

I'm with Boarder277. Stropping, too. If I can't hear what I'm doing, I get into trouble. I don't get board, though, since I'm actively listening to something.

I always listen to something when I hone - mostly the radio (music mainly, not talking). I've found things like Brahms is good for full hollows, but if you have a recalcitrant wedge try a bit of AC/DC.

The best music to hone by is what the americans call "Krautrock". We call it electronic music.
Anybody here heard of that? Anybody knowing Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Ashra, Robert Schroeder, ............?

Yeah, I know Tangerine Dream. They did the soundtrack for the movie Legend with Tom Cruise and Tim Curry.

I like dead silence when I hone but when I'm setting up a snipe on the Bay I like Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap....
