    Question Guangxi stone & bevel setter question

    (one) is the Guangxi stone good for a starter were to buy one

    (to)what is a bevel setter a photo would be very helpful thanks
    i find a need ill find a way

    Look at this link, there is lots of information on the Guangxi stone.

    Very broad question on the bevel setter, I'll let one one of the honing veterans answer that one.

    As the name implies, a bevel setter is a hone (usually around 1K) whose sole job in life is to set the bevel on a razor.
    This is the basis of a good shaving edge.
    The C12K od PHIG or Guangxi hone is a finisher, however, having said this, Glenn has a very interesting video on one stone honing with a PHIG - you may like to check it out in the library.

    You can buy the C12k or Guangxi stone at Woodcraft, online or at a local store.

    As mentioned, A bevel setter is used for setting bevels and minor repair work, chips, dings, etc...

    A normal progression might be 1k, 4k, 8k.
