It will give you a very slick feel on the stone. Do 15 - 20 laps on the Smiths for a very nice polished finished edge. I have shaved off the stone or stropped on Chrome Oxide or .50 CBN.
Well I will do it as you said, but I don`t have Chrome Oxide, I have never used.

Now as I`m thinking I have one more stone like this one, not sure if it the same, but also dark chocolate color. Maybe you can help me on this one too.

Thank you all for your help.

Hard to tell from the photos, but the long ones look possibly like Belgian Blue stones, especially from the slurry.

The square-ish one may be a Vosgienne/La Lune. The stria on them should be very different, the BBW a lot coarser and the feel on the stone will also be very different, the BBW a bit gritty and the Vosgienne much like a Coticule smooth.

All are nice stones. The trick with all these stone is working the slurry, you will have to experiment.

Surprisingly I find thin slurry is best, worked until it breaks down after 30-40 laps… then dilute it out with water drops at a time. Finish with a clear water wet stone and 2-3 drops of Smith’s Honing solution work until dry. Work the stone after an 8 or 12K edge.

This method works well for the BBW and Vosgienne for me, fun stones to tease out your skills and work the slurry to finely polish the bevel.
