Yeah Frank, it is. Mine came pretty flat so it wasn't to bad to do. I have another black and a trans and I prefer this one for finishing.

Surgical black,
Extra hard translucent,
Third one, not sure. It is as hard as... umm... rock. I have seen a couple of arkansas that looked similar. Vintage and not dished at all, cuts real slow as in sloooww. Opinions?
And thanks for posting the primitives just as I thought my Had had been quenched.Last edited by Grazor; 03-12-2015 at 05:52 AM. Reason: tapatalk

I tried looking at Dan's site to find those Primitive Black Arks. I'm not seeing those anywhere on there......
Do you have a link to share showing them? Please.
And Grazor's attachments aren't working either.

Thanked: 246I think you have to call or email direct to Dan's and they will send you some pics of the raw stones they have available.

Thanked: 52Willisf:
Eric's got that right, at least with Dan's.
I just called them and described what I was looking for and a about a week later I got pic's of two stones they had available. I took the larger of the two.
At my door four days later.
And then the fun begins!

The third stone is a Washita. I have shaved off one before, you can get a serviceable edge but it's not as comfortable as it could be.
