That's one bad ass hone. Wishing you many awesome edges that shave beautifully off of it. Love the Dennis KY hone you made me. Thanks again.
I am very appreciative of all the knowledge and sharing each and everyone has provided me with. Look forward to future endeavors with many of you.

Well Ive gotta say...I refreshed a coticule edge on my boker damascus magnetic steel with this stone and it improved it significantly, leaves no scratch pattern and the amazingly keen edged...and its fast possibly because the razor travels a mile in no time lol

I remember seeing the auction for that and thinking "a 14 inch Thuri, nah, prob some crap stone and not worth the risk". As they say "no risk, no reward". Glad it turned out OK for you, hell you could take it to the wet saw and cut it in half and still have 2 nice stones, happy honing sir.

If anything I will slab off half an inch or so for a slurry stone, be about it, if I even do that. I enjoyed honing on it this morning, odd when you're use to smaller stones....it's huge.
Whats the adhesive look like on the eschers when they lose label? Im curious what this gunk on the ends and parts of the back is.

Ok, now that I have had the chance to use this stone a few times I must say I can now understand why the 12 inch Thuringian stones demand such a premium. This stone is by far my favorite and I forsee my other thuringians getting neglected lol. It leaves such a super keenand smooth edge and I am still in awe that I snatched it up for $63.... I actually shaved 2 SRP members off this stone today at work, Mattyesfan2, and Scott (forget his username) which if I must say are some nice guys, always fun meeting members in person.
Has anyone else ever run into a 14" thuringian? Still curious about the adhesive question from my previous post also.
