    Who makes these blades ?
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Looking at the photo in post 11, I would say no, if the photo is from before you started to hone. Your blade is made by Hart, it seems, and none of the Hart razors appear to be made with a smile to the blade. Ignore my question then as it is not relevent to your wonky bevel. Sorry for the red herring.

I am going to not say any more and add to the confusion. I think we are talking about two different things, sorry.

Maybe your dropping the angle as you come off the hone. It looks like your honing a frown into 1 side more that the other from what I can see. A video of you honing would show a lot. Do it for yourself and get a different angle to look at. Maybe back at you and low. Although most people act different on stage :<0)

So you got these two razors new? The current "Not a Replica" on the Baxter site has a straight spine so yours may be older? Either way it seems to have uneven spine wear near the toe but that may be a lighting/angle issue (post #7), and as previously mentioned there looks to be a heel hook. Both would indicate a fair amount of honing has been done on this razor.

From my very limited experience I would suggest you remove the tape, blacken the edge and the spine with magic marker and take a few strokes on a 1K or 4K to see where the razor is contacting the stone. You can then adjust your stroke to address any uneven spine wear and edge contact. Another option would be to keep the very nice blades away from your hones pick up a couple of cheap razors to develop your honing skill.

The blade is about 2 years old I think and I learnt to hone with it, un even pressure, un flattened stones, too much pressure , its been honed many many times.
I think the picture on the Baxters site is a bit misleading , I think there is a dip to the spine but its hard to tell.

Curved spine or not I would still suggest the marker and also ensure that your stones are flat. Once you get the bevel straight the heel is going to need some attention.
