    Hi Jörg,

great stones, congrats. I saw that lot with coti and Ark too but did not bid. The old worn out scythe stones are very interesting too. And the Marmor labelled scythe stone - I am sure I have seen this in an old catalogue -but cannot recall at the moment.

Every time I flatten a badly dished coti or thuri stone, I start with a well worn DMT and with every rinse, I drain the water into a large stock pot. I leave it overnight, and the next day I drain the majority of the water, leaving behind enough water that I can stir the layer of mud off the bottom of the pot and pour it into a mason jar.

This way I have a source of slurry juice without ever having to rub the main stone again. That stuff is like gold, and getting as pricey, so I harvest it whenever possible.

Currently all out, as I have not picked up any new stones in a while. Perhaps this yard sale season will replenish my supply. =)

    Hi there,

It's been a while but HAD has finally struck again and two new vintage hones have found their way to me :

    A nice big light green thuringian (4,6 x 19,9 x 1,7 cm, 444 g) and a natural coticule/bbb combination hone (~ 6,5 x 12,5 x 2,3 cm, 522 g).

The thuringian is really lovely and definately (at least) on par with my big labelled Escher. The coticule is very hard and rather fast.

    I like 'em both .

    Cheers
    Jörg

P.S. I need to fix the picture links in my previous posts, the hoster no longer seems to support hot linking the pictures (without paying).

Yes, that host server is holding about 10 years of my photos hostage. I cannot download them or copy them even to my home computer. They are in a different format than JPG.
