    Just search, watch and look, thats what a lot of the guys do here....

    You wont get an answer in the thinking that anybody will tell you what would be a good price to buy "that" und for what you should sell "that"...it also depends on rareness, type and size of the stone...

    Search (use search function or google)

    Watch (check auctions on different sites)

    Look (you have to know what go look for)

    And concerning the wording "past ebay auctions arent much help"...

    There the most relevant indicators for a product beeing sold on auction market...i can say just as an example...

    When i sell my full labelled Escher barber delight that the price i will get is around 800-1000usd...these were the prices of the past 3-6 stones beeing sold depending on condition of the stone...
