Bevel setter
Since I've been delving more into honing lately, I'm now on the lookout for a good bevel setter that can repair edges that may be pitted, etc. I've been using a coticule for this task, but sometimes that takes quite a while.
What does everyone recommends without breaking the bank? With my b-day coming up in a couple weeks, I figure I'd like to treat myself a bit! Thanks for any advice you all can give.Classic, traditional Barber and owner at Barber's Notch in Brigham City, Utah.

Thanked: 13245Best = Chosera 1k at this point in time anyway
Without breaking the bank and still very effective = King 1k in fact I used it in many of my Honing vids just to show how well it works Added bonus is that is usually available locally at Woodcraft, Rockler and many Ace stores and some Cutlery stores

hmmmm must be Good Karma as I just checked in after applying tape to go set a bevel on my King 1200, works for me, maybe it will work for you!
It is a thirsty SOB but a water well with distilled water and a capful (teaspoon +) of chlorine bleach per galleon keeps it fresh for about 6 months.
Thanks for that tip goes to GSSIXGUN :Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

I've heard great things about those Cholera stones... but I never realized they were that pricey until I just looked them up. Looks like the Naniwa or the King ones are closer to what I was looking to spend on one. Wish I had a woodcraft nearby to see if they had them, but will probably need to order online instead.

+1 on the King for price-point. All I use is a King and a Guangxi. The best edges I have ever experienced and it is very reasonable.
