Worried about buying natural stones. Have a bunch, including one Japanese natural stone. But having bought all off the net, it worries me to pay a lot for something I can't hold and feel first.

A lot of better sellers will let you return the stone (minus shipping) if you don't like it. BTW OP, your new stone reminds me of one I recently found and am starting to try now:
