Suffer from HAD? - How many do you have?
I thought I would pose a funny question. How many different "razor" hones (hones 1k and above including pastes and sprays) do you have? I've only got a meager collection of about 8 hones:
1k chosera
1k shapton glass
4/8 norton
4k glass
8k glass
phig
16k glass
crox
so how about you? And are there support groups for people suffering from HAD?A fool flaunts what wisdom he thinks he has, while a wise man will show that he is wise silently.

Thanked: 246If you only count manufactured or commercial stones I think I have around 10 that are over 1k and probably 5 bench strops with high grit sprays or CrOx (these are mainly gathering dust these days). If you count stones I made myself probably more like 25 or 30 and growing!

I once suffered from a mild case of HAD while searching for a honing setup that I can be pleased with. I have been happy with my chosera 1k, naniwa 3k-8k-12k Japanese natural finisher for more than 2 years now.
Previous relationships include the norton 4k-8k as well as a short affair with a zulu grey...my j-nat forgave me. My first stone, a hess barber hone was accidentally dropped and damaged, it is in a better place now.
