    Default Naniwa 3K Professional

The 3K Professional arrived in the post today. A few jobs to finish first, but within a few hours, I had tomorrows razor on it.

Lapped it and the Green Monster (Choserta 1K), and went at it. It seems a bit different than the Chosera, a good bit more thirsty for one, but I'm comparing it to the old 1K. Performance is top notch between the two .. it removed the 1K scratch pattern in very short order, the feel on the hone is superb and the bevel looked great under a 10x loupe. So, this was a good addition to the stable for me .. replacing a 3K (purportedly) natural that was much slower, and a bit more of a question mark.
Finished in my normal manner, and we'll shave tomorrow, but I'm already very pleased with it.

Funny, same colour as the "old" 3K Naniwa Super Stone. Always wonder what the difference was or was it a name change only thing.

Should have waited a minute for the answer.

Super stone and Chosera use the same abrasive different binder.

Good, it's less confusing that way when hones are replaced.

Am waiting for my new 10k at the mo. The professional (chosera) and speciality (super) stones are improved versions that have renewed binding agents. http://www.knivesandtools.co.uk/en/p...stone-p330.htm

Gee, now my synthetics are OLD.

I need to do more honing so I can wear more of these suckers out and get nice shiny upgraded state of the art new hones.
