Sorry. Missed it.
EDIT: Wait, page 3, you mean. And "I have both" wasn't clear enough for me. Had you said, "It is a tie"...Last edited by Siguy; 01-11-2015 at 03:34 AM.

Thanked: 4206After 8k I like using my coti slurry to dilution, and then depending on the razor;
My CF on British and American steel.
My Zulu likes Solingen blades the best as well as Swedish framebacks.

Yep. Since getting the Gokumyo 20k, I've stopped looking for other hones and use it exclusively. The edges I get from it suit my preferences. And it delivers each time very reliably. I'm not the most experienced when it comes to honing. I've used the ZG, a couple Jnats, and have had other razors finished for me on Eschers. All of those were good but I prefer the 20k. It doesn't have the hobby appeal that naturals do but it delivers. If I want to play around, I'll get my Jnats out as the process with them can be fun. But if I just want to nail it and move on, G20k.

Favorite finisher??
Still trying to decide... My honing skills are adequate and turn out very fine edges for my needs, but I can't yet match any one hone to its best mate steel. That said, after Shapton Glass 8k, I use an Apache Strata, Zulu Grey, Surgical Black Ark or a Coti. I also use a Shapton Glass 16k, though sparingly as it seems vulnerable to over honing after more than ten or so strokes.
After talking with JimmyHAD, and shaving with his edge, the G20k is now on my radar---------------------------------------------------

Thanked: 52There are a few but today my favorite is the Ozuku Asagi that I got from Brooksie. Honed a vintage TI Spartacus and just shaved with it.
For me this stone just teaches me more and more each day and some of the edges that I get are wonderful to shave with.
